Transform and Variational Methods in Image Processing
Abstract
"Wavelets are the result of truly interdisciplinary research, originating in the early eighties, and involving mathematicians (approximation theorists, harmonic and functional analysts), mathematical physicists as well as researchers from signal and image processing. Wavelet theory incorporated influences from
all these areas of research; and nowadays wavelets can be encountered as a well-established
tool in many applied fields."
This course is intended to led towards answers to the following questions:
- What are wavelets?
- How are wavelets constructed?
- Which purposes do wavelets serve?
- How to use them for Image Processing?
