Education
I hold a Bachelor’s (2016) and Master’s degree (2019) in Forest Science and Forest Ecology obtained at Göttingen University. During my studies I became interested in statistical modeling, for my thesis I analyzed economic data of forest enterprises with models and methods of multivariate time series analysis.After graduation I became an employee of the Northwest German Forest Research Institute (NW-FVA) where my main focus is on growth modeling and the development of R-packages.
PhD Research Project
Doctoral candidate in the RTG 2300, subproject 9: “Predicting structural changes and growth in pure and mixed stands of European beech, Norway spruce, and Douglas-fir”. The main goal of this subproject is to provide robust statistical models estimating height and diameter growth for recent and future stands, both pure and mixed. To achieve this goal, the models will include stand characteristics as well as atmospheric variables to account for the changing conditions of the future. Another important aspect of modeling mixed species stands is covered by the models for crown growth and development, derived by Johannes Sauer, which will be utilized and refined for this subproject.Publications
