Diversity and trophic ecology of arboreal Braconids wasp (Hymenoptera) along a lowland rainforest transformation gradient in Jambi, Sumatra, Indonesia
Parasitoid wasp provides essential role in ecosystem as natural enemy that may affect pest population, however the rainforest conversion threatened its diversity and community composition. Braconidae is a prominent group of parasitoids that approximately more than 21,200 species have been described, but little is known about Braconid wasp diversity in Indonesia. We would like to investigate arboreal Braconid wasp diversity and trophic ecology changes along a lowland rainforest conversion to intensive monoculture of rubber and oil palm in Indonesia. Canopy fogging sampling campaign was chosen as a sampling method and conducted in four land use types, i.e., natural rainforest system, extensive agriculture in jungle rubber, and intensively managed of monoculture rubber and oil palm. We do morphological taxonomy and molecular phylogeny to assess Braconid wasp diversity and stable isotope also fatty acids for food web analysis.
