(S/F/D; Englisch- und Tschechischsprachiges Lehrangebot, Mindestsprachniveau: Englisch B1, Tschechisch B1)

Founded in 1991 as part of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, the Faculty of Theology is still fairly young compared to other theological faculties in Europe and the world, but it draws from the cultural and educational traditions of theological and philosophical studies in the town which started in the early 19th century, but were surpressed during the Communist regime.

The Faculty and its education is closely connected with the Diocese of České Budějovice. This is shown by the Facultys statute, according to which the bishop of České Budějovice presides the Faculty of Theology.

The Faculty of Theology offers research and teaching in the fields of theology and philosophy as well as in social work and education with special emphasis on Christian ethics and social values.
