The UrbanLab was initiated by researchers at the Centre for Global Migration Studies at the University of Göttingen, the boat people projekt, Literarisches Zentrum and Museum Friedland.
Since the opening of the UrbanLab in June 2019, the following organisations and initiatives have actively participated in the UrbanLab. They have contributed their own events, used the premises for their meetings and networking, or contributed to the final project brochure "What makes a city for everyone?
