Virtual Supply Chain Management Teaching in Germany and Italy (VISTA)

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a very interdisciplinary as well as international topic in all universities worldwide. In our project we develop a collaboration with the department of industrial engineering of the Italian University of Trento. In total six courses over a period of two semesters will be available in comprehensive, accessible, and innovative digital platforms and formats for students in Göttingen and Trento. The courses and topics range from a seminar on “Simulations in Supply Chains” (Chair of Production and Logistics, Göttingen) to a course on “Digital Production and Assembly Systems” (Department of Industrial Engineering, Trento). The lecture course format includes digital lectures and interactive tutorials. In the seminar format, German and Italian students will work together in mixed virtual teams gaining international, intercultural and interdisciplinary experiences, while requiring and executing digital skills. This is also directed at collecting international comparative data for application in joint digital research teams and projects. This can be a future-oriented low-level and efficient entry for all student groups to international academic exchange.
