Legal Advice for International Students
The University of Göttingen itself cannot offer legal advice for students. Below you will find links to institutions that can make an initial legal assessment of your case and support you in taking further steps. This may include referral to established lawyers, support on the way to legal aid and also language mediation in legal cases.
The AStA's legal advice service offers free legal advice for students at the University of Göttingen. The areas of law covered include tenancy law and examination law.
The Refugee Law Clinic is a registered association founded by students of the University of Göttingen. It supports all migrants, not only refugees. Its counselling activities include free legal advice on residence and asylum law, as well as labour and social law.
The International Office can provide limited assistance in finding established lawyers who can provide legal advice in English. Please feel free to contact us.
