Research
I am a plant scientist with a Ph.D. in Agronomy and Crop Science. My research experience specializes in wheat stress detection and management in crops using morpho-physiological parameters, hyperspectral, and chlorophyll fluorescence imaging. I have introduced techniques for the detection of abiotic stresses by estimating antioxidant enzymatic activities and reactive oxygen species under cold and drought stresses using imaging technology. Moreover, I have experience in determining sorghum grain quality components and have developed models for sorghum grain grading for food, feed, and fuel using NIR Spectroscopy.Currently, my fascination is with the combination of biotic (stem borer) and abiotic (drought and nitrogen) stresses in wheat and other cereal crops, partly due to my expertise in growing them under various environmental conditions. I am dedicated to advancing sustainable and precision agriculture through innovative research and technology.
