Titel des Projekts:
Lone Parenthood in Great Britian and Germany
Lone parenthood remains high on the political agenda in Britain while is it still features much less in public debates in Germany. The aim of this thesis is to disentangle the various groups of lone parents (i.e.separated/divoced, single, and widowed, mothers and fathers) and to take a closer look at the differences in their financial circumstances and employment situation through a secondary analysis of official data such as the GHS and the Microzensus.. Also, it will trace the changes in the compostion of the lone parents group and the attitudes and policies affecting lone parents back to the time after the Second World War.
