Plan your Erasmus stay about one year in advance. You apply via MoveOn, the University of Göttingen’s application portal for studying abroad. There, you will also upload the required application documents (letter of motivation, certificate of enrolment, FlexStat ranking, and proof of language proficiency).

The application deadline is at the end of January each year. For stays in the academic year 2022/23, the deadline is therefore January 31, 2022.

For the selection of applicants, the DAAD specifies the following criteria:

• You are enrolled at the University of Göttingen in Latin or Greek.
• At the time of your stay abroad, you are at least in your 3rd semester of a Bachelor’s program.


In addition, the following internal criteria of the department apply (order not indicative):



• existing language skills in the language of the host country
• academic performance
• motivation
• number of semesters completed
• number of previous unsuccessful applications for an Erasmus place
