Sylvester Bright Abedi Akyea, B.A.

Mr. Sylvester B.A. Akyea is an upcoming Africanist historian with a background in Sociology.
Mr. Akyea has a passion for research, teaching and an appetite for knowledge. Writing on
Ghanaian history, his research interests transcend themes including economic, slavery,
environmental, and military history.

Sylvester is currently working on the following papers for publication: “Essential War Supplies
of Timber” in the Gold Coast During the Second World War and Stereotyping Africa: British
Colonial Attitude Towards Timber Exploitation in the Gold Coast.
