Digging the information of current genomes to understand our evolutionary past is one of the greatest opportunities of our time. My research combines bioinformatic and evolutionary analysis with genome-scale data to resolve evolutionarily relevant questions. I am particularly interested in understanding major evolutionary transitions. Currently, I am investigating the genomic basis of terrestrialization in land plants through comparative genomic analyses of their closest relatives: the streptophyte algae.
