I am a PhD student at the Department of Natural Resources, Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. I am also a guest scientist at the Department of Conservation Biology, Gottingen University. My research focuses on understanding how climate change and human activities impact biodiversity and on evaluating the effectiveness of protected areas in safeguarding biodiversity against these threats to improve conservation management.
My PhD project aims to investigate the impact of climate variations and land cover changes on ungulate abundance and wetland birds in Iran. More specifically, my goals are identifying the main drivers of water bird abundance and richness across wetlands in Iran, quantifying changes in ungulates abundance, as well as evaluating how protected areas in the Hyrcanian forest are effective at curbing habitat loss.
