Prof. Dr. Stefan Haas

The chair of theory and methods of history is concerned with conceptions and methodological processes of history on a scientific basis, the conditions of historical knowledge and its transfer as well as the transdisciplinary and intercultural networking of this knowledge. One of the chair’s research priorities deals with the question how scientific knowledge is generated by the media.
A German, European and transnational perspective on cultural history, communication history, media history and political history of the 19th and 20th century constitutes the chair’s empirical research focus.
