The Faculty of Social Sciences at Göttingen University is characterised by a wide range of subjects: ethnology, education, gender studies, political science, sociology and sports science, modern indian studies and an interdisciplinary institute for methods and methodologies. The research topics in the social sciences are correspondingly diverse and deal with social transformation processes from various perspectives.

    March 9–10, 2026 Information days at the University of Göttingen

    The annual information days will take place at Georg August University on March 9 and 10, 2026. Over the course of two days, interested parties can find out about the range of courses on offer, learn more about the degree programs offered by the respective faculties, and gain an initial insight into the world of studying.     At the beginning of April, the annual orientation phase for new master's students at our faculty will take place again. Students will be welcomed in person in Göttingen before the start of the semester. In addition, you will receive all the relevant information for your studies and have the opportunity to get to know your fellow students and lecturers.
