If you use a lottery, the enrolments are treated equally regardless of the time of enrolment. The available places are allocated among all enrolments by random draw at a time you choose.

If you activate provisional enrolment, then after the first attended meeting you can determine which participants you finally wish to allow access to your course. You can activate provisional enrolment for all enrolment procedures (none, chronological, lottery).Student user ID necessary for active enrolment procedure
As soon as an enrolment procedure is activated, only students with a student user ID can enrol for the course. You can find information on student user ID here.
