Details
This programme conducted in German is intended for students who possess a sound knowledge of the basics of Geography, Geoecology, Ecology, Resource Management, Landscape Planning or Environmental Sciences. They will acquire the ability to analyse, evaluate and further develop matters and findings connected with the topics dealt with in this study programme.
Geographers think in an interdisciplinary, international, intercultural and sustainable way.
The course contents include regional and global problems of resource utilisation and socio-cultural, economic and environmental change, climate and landscape development and environmental monitoring. Solution possibilities for questions regarding these topics are reflected from physical and human geography perspectives. Questions of catchment area and land management, the application of evaluation and prognosis models, resource conflicts, GIS-driven resource utilisation planning and geographic development research will also be treated.

The Master of Science degree in “Geography: Resource Analysis and Resource Management" serves as a qualification to take up management positions in the areas of resource conservation, environmental evaluation, resource management, development cooperation, nature conservation and sustainable development, landscape planning, software development, management and political consultancy, or journalism and the media. Prospective employers are government organisations and NGOs, companies operating (inter)nationally, the insurance sector, research establishments, etc. The Master of Science degree is also a prerequisite to enter into post-graduate education.

4 semesters - 120 Credits (C)
The 120 Credits consist of 72 C geographical modules, 12 C non-geographical modules, 6 C key competencies and 30 C for the master’s thesis.
