| Details | In celebration of March 27, the International Day of Multilingualism, the Human-Centered Data Science Team (Professor Lisa Beinborn) invites you to the presentations in the context of the HumanClaim Workshop. The workshop addresses the challenges and potentials of cross-lingual AI models. What is this Workshop about? Cross-lingual AI models have shown remarkable advancements in recent years, yet their development and evaluation remain largely shaped by commercial interests. While these models demonstrate impressive average performance across a vast range of languages, their applicability in human-centered domains such as cognitive modeling, language education, and the digital humanities remains underexplored. We invite you to attend the presentations that take part during the workshop: Wednesday, March 26th in Startraum: - Debora Nozza (Bocconi University, Milano): Subjectivity in NLP and Cross-Lingual Hate Speech - Lucie Flek (University of Bonn): Stereotypes in Multilingual Models Thursday, March 27th in Tagungszentrum Sternwarte - Yuval Pinter (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev): Challenges in Tokenization Across Languages - Nivedita Mani (Georg-August University Göttingen): Cognitive Models of L1 Acquisition In addition to the keynote talks and discussions, you are invited to attend the poster session on Wednesday. It provides an opportunity for participants to discuss their research on cross-lingual AI, multilingualism, and related topics.
