Students, prospective students, and graduates up to one year after taking their degree can all contact the Representative for Academic Quality (confidential advisor/ombudsperson) for information on all kinds of issues, difficulties and special interests. It's possible simply to obtain advice and assess the situation - confidentially, independently and on request anonymously.
The Representative for Academic Quality (confidential advisor/ombudsperson) can help to mediate your difficulties, whoever and whatever they concern. She is neutral and impartial. All information is treated as confidential, and any conversations are voluntary. Details and options are introduced autonomously and independently.
The Representative for Academic Quality (confidential advisor/ombudsperson) works in dialogue with teaching staff, students, and other contacts from throughout the university, and if requested interacts with them directly in order to support those involved personally and resolve their concerns. Solutions and options are worked out jointly, and suitable procedures are agreed.
Ideas and advice for teaching and learning are reviewed and assessed confidentially, independently and on request anonymously. The Representative for Academic Quality is directly and fundamentally involved in the framework of teaching and learning. Alongside those with responsibility, she reviews proposed changes for their usefulness and feasibility. The potential for implementation is then studied jointly.
What issues and challenges does the Representative for Academic Quality (confidential advisor/ombudsperson) deal with?
Issues can include
questions about examinations and procedures (admission rules, suitability and authorisation procedures, award of places),
equipment and resources (e.g. support services),
difficulties with teaching staff, colleagues or students,
crisis situations and conflicts,
any kind of discrimination, violence and threat,
advice and other services (e.g. availability),
conditions for studying, degree course offers, choice/changing course (recognition of qualifications), student mobility, curriculum-related problems (e.g. course requirements, topicality of study content).
