Research Interests
I'm a Geographer, Ecologist and Ornithologist interested in the impact of different land uses on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in the tropics. During my PhD, I investigate the landscape- to regional-scale impacts of different types of vanilla cultivation as well as alternative land-uses on the conservation of biodiversity in NE Madagascar with a special focus on birds. The project integrates field surveys, images from UAV and satellites with novel modelling approaches of countryside biogeography
