Influence of litter size on birth weight and performance in offspring from different sire lines

Litter size in pigs has increased over time. At the same time, litter size affects birth weight. Within this project, the effect of birth weight on the biological performance along the entire life cycle, i.e. from birth to slaughter, will be systematically investigated. Furthermore, economic aspects along the production chain will be analysed. In a large experiment, data from two sire lines will be compared.
