Details

In the 2-subject Bachelor's programme, students can combine two equally important subjects of their choice. The programme imparts a solid basic knowledge in both subjects, e.g. in order to subsequently penetrate one of the two chosen subjects further in a Master's programme. The 2-subject Bachelor's programme offers greater freedom in the "studium generale" profile than in the "Lehramt" profile, but naturally does not reach the subject depth as the Bachelor's programme in Mathematics (B.Sc.).

In this profile, mathematics can be combined with subjects in the humanities, cultural sciences or social sciences, law, computer science, economics or languages. or languages. You can find the complete selection here

In a number of subjects, completion of the two-subject Bachelor's degree basically qualifies students for subsequent transition to the corresponding Master's degree programme. This is not the case in Mathematics. Here, the degree programme can be planned so that a subsequent transition to the Masters' degree programme in Mathematics (M.Sc.) is possible, but not every individually selected combination of modules in the dual-subject Bachelor's degree programme enables students to do so. Therefore it is advisable to plan the courses to be attended at an early stage with the help of the Student Advisory Service.

Structure

In the two-subject Bachelor's programme, two subjects are studied on equal terms.

A total of 180 credits are earned for the Bachelor's degree Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).

The two subjects each account for 66 credits. The area of professionalisation accounts for 36 credits.

In Mathematics the following studies must be completed as parts of the 66 C:

  • Analysis I and Analytical Geometry and Linear Algebra I
  • Analysis II or Methods of Analysis II
  • Analytical Geometry and Linear Algebra II or Geometry
  • Advanced Methods of Analysis or Mathematical Principles, Algebra, Theory of Numbers
  • School-related Applied Mathematics and School-related Principles of Stochastic
  • Mathematical Application Systems
  • Introduction to Teaching Methodology for Mathematics for the "studium generale" profile, or Introduction to Teaching Methodology for Mathematics for the teaching profession profile.

Students also have the option to earn their 36 C of the specialisation area in Mathematics.
