Leif Matthies (22)

Leif enrolled at the law faculty of the University of Goettingen in the winter semester of 2018/19, having spent a voluntary year to work in the Lower Saxony State Parliament beforehand. Since 2021, he holds a scholarship from the German Academic Foundation. Moreover, he works as a student assistant at the Chair of Prof. Dr. Ahrens for civil, procedural and attorney law.

Leif gained a first insight to international experiences during exchange programs in France and New Zealand. Meanwhile, he fostered his interest in different cultures, formed international friendships and improved his language skills.

To him, the Moot offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in arbitration law and to enhance rhetorical skills. He looks forward to getting in touch with students from all over the world while working closely with his team members in Goettingen. In his spare time, Leif engages in politics and enjoys travelling as well as physical exercises.
