Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)
The Blended Intensive Programmes promote innovative learning and teaching methods and offer students and teachers the opportunity to combine a short physical group mobility (5-30 days) with a virtual phase (duration not specified).
At least 3 partner universities from different programme countries cooperate in a BIP and develop short, intensive and joint curricula and activities.
The principles of the ECHE and compliance with the Erasmus+ regulations also apply to the blended intensive programmes. Inter-institutional agreements as well as processes for the conclusion of learning agreements and the issuing of transcripts of records are required. The recognition of credits must be ensured.
To strengthen the ENLIGHT network, currently only the option to apply for Erasmus+ funding for coordination or participation of a BIP within the network is offered. Applications for coordination are submitted annually (january) and for participation (outgoing short term mobility) at least once a year (january), possibly once per semester if funds are available.

It is strongly recommended that participating partners clarify the option of Erasmus+ funding with their International Office at an early stage.
- Workflow Coordination BIP (in German).
The International office Göttingen provides support and advice in administration (homepage, mobility portal, report-relevant documentation) and in financial management. The coordinating project management is responsible for the organisational and content-related implementation, as well as study-relevant documentation of the BIP.
Between € 4,000.00 and € 8,000.00 can be raised for the coordination of a BIP (€ 400.00 OS funds x number of mobile learners). Financial regulation: 20% of the funding amount is used centrally for administration. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the BIP is no longer eligible for funding. A maximum of 20 mobile learners can be considered when applying for BIP coordination funding. Zero grant recipients can be counted as mobile learners. Teaching staff do not count as minimum participants Note financial regulation project 2024: 60 % of the BIP organizational funds can be spent decentrally for the coordination of the BIP, 40 % are used centrally for administration. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the BIP is no longer eligible for funding. More than 20 mobile learners will not be considered for funding. Zero grant recipients can be counted as mobile learners. Teaching staff do not count towards the minimum number of participants The funding can be used for expenses such as:
- General administration of the BIP
- Hospitality (on a pro rata basis and in compliance with the university's hospitality policy)
- Implementation of excursion
- Personnel costs (e.g. student assistants)
- Preparatory visits
- Public relations

- Workflow Outgoing short term mobility (in German).
The Göttingen International Department supports and advises on administration (homepage, mobility portal, report-relevant documentation) and pays out the mobility grant to Göttingen participants. The sending institution (faculty/subject) is responsible for the selection of the mobile participants, the professional advice and the recognition. The Erasmus+ program officer of the faculty must be involved.
The sending institution is responsible for ensuring that students are selected for a blended short term mobility as part of a BIP in accordance with the centrally specified criteria in a transparent procedure. The program explicitly supports the participation of students from subjects with limited mobility opportunities, students who belong to the Fewer Opportunities group and/or who have no previous student experience abroad. The subject institution is responsible for the timely internal nomination of selected students. The students must be supported in issuing the Learning Agreement and questions regarding recognition (minimum requirement of 3 credits) must be clarified before the start of the mobility. We recommend using the workflow.
Answers to the most important questions for outgoing students can be found at here.
