The Department of Information Systems is composed of three Chairs and one junior professor (assistant professor), with more than 30 staff members employed in research and teaching capacities. Chair of Application Systems and E-Business
Chair of Information Management
Prof. Dr. Lutz Kolbe leads the Chair of Information Management since the summer semester of 2007. The Chair’s research and teaching interests include strategic information management, the management of information security, as well as the management of IT-driven innovation and IT-led projects. Chair of Interorganizational Information Systems
The professorship for Interorganisational Information Systems has been held by Prof. Dr Manuel Trenz since the summer semester 2019. The professorship addresses the targeted use of information systems and digital innovations and their influence on organisations and individuals. In particular, the focus is on digital services and platforms, control elements of digital transformation and cooperation as well as the areas of contact between the physical and digital worlds. Chair of Smart Services
The Chair of Smart Services is lead by Martin Adam since the winter semester of 2023. His research group focuses on Human-AI interaction, sustainability and responsibility and digital platforms and markets. Homepage
