Coimbra Group - A European Network
Founded in 1985 and formally constituted by Charter in 1987, the Coimbra Group is an association of long-established European multidisciplinary universities of high international standard. The Coimbra Group is committed to creating special academic and cultural ties in order to promote, internationalisation, academic collaboration, excellence in learning and research, and service to society for the benefit of its members. It is also the purpose of the Group to influence European educational policy and to develop best practice through mutual exchange of experience.
The Coimbra Group has an office in Brussels, which coordinates and organises all activities of the Group. The main activities are carried out by task forces. The University of Göttingen is active in several task forces, which are staffed by members of centralised and decentralised bodies of the university: E-Learning; Culture, Arts and Humanities; Education, Training and Mobility; Doctoral Studies and Research; Employability and Career Guidance.
