EDUCATION NETWORK WINFOLine
Project Description
The four Information Systems chairs of the universities of Göttingen, Kassel, Leipzig, and Saarbrücken aim to establish a cross-university and cross-state educational network in the German higher education landscape.
The educational network focuses on internet-based education and training in the field of information systems. To this end, an educational product pool is created for the discipline of information systems. The educational products can range from individual multimedia learning units to entire online courses.
To expand the educational product pool, new educational products will be developed in collaboration with other departments, and existing online courses will be acquired to enhance the pool.
A participant in the educational network can be both a provider and a user. The WINFOLine educational network increases the range of educational offerings available to other providers in terms of both breadth and depth.
A key offering of the educational network will be a virtual advanced study program in information systems. This advanced program is tailored to the needs of working professionals and university graduates.
The WINFOLine educational network aims to achieve the following main objectives with the proposed project:
The existing WINFOLine teaching cooperation is to be expanded into an educational network in the field of German-language information systems. The sustainability goal is an orthogonal objective that plays a crucial role in all subsequent goals described. All success-critical factors that endanger sustainability must therefore be identified and analyzed. The results of these analyses must be explicitly considered in the individual sub-concepts. To ensure the sustainability of the approach, the educational network must be seamlessly integrated into existing and future multimedia strategies of universities. An important goal of the WINFOLine educational network is to build an educational product pool that enables the configuration of different educational offerings.
This exchange ring has been practiced since 1998. It originated from the WINFOLine project funded by the Bertelsmann Foundation and the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation, which was further supported by the BMBF as the WINFOLine educational network.
