IfE - Institute for Educational Science
The Institute's main objective is to provide contemporary and future-orientated training for various professional fields of activity not only to aspiring teachers, but also to young academic scholars for research and development projects founded on basic research in the educational sciences.
Research and Teaching
The research and teaching emphasis is nested in the themes Theory and History of Education, School Education, Empirical Research into Teaching and School Development and Research into Teaching and Learning, Socialization Theory and Research.
For these themes the Institute has received grants for numerous third-party funded research projects. In terms of teaching activities, the Institute participates in teacher training degree programmes - a two-subject B.A. with teacher training option and a Master of Education - as well as B.A. in Social Sciences with educational or educational science curricula. The Institute offers its own Master's degree programme with a M.A. in Educational Science, with focus on research and development in education.
