Mobile tree canopy skyjack
A major research focus in our group is on the ecophysiology of mature trees and related ecosystem processes in forests. One prerequisite for studies in this research area is an appropriate access to the canopies of the studied trees. We use a mobile skyjack, whose pulpit can be pulled out up to 30 m in height to reach different positions in the canopy of mature trees. Different to steady installations (towers, canopy cranes, canopy walkways), the tree canopy skyjack allows us for canopy access of mature trees at several of our various research sites in Central Germany.
