Preparatory R-Course

You are about to start the MSc program Forest and Ecosystem Sciences? Then the Preparatory R-Course is intended just for you!

Many modules in your studies will use the language R for statistical computing. We offer this free Preparatory R-Course that will provide you with exactly the skills needed in these modules. This course is a one-week block course and takes place October 9-13, 2023. The course will be taught online with teacher-guided live coding sessions and exercise sessions with live help. To participate in the online course, you'll need to install the latest versions of the free softwares RStudio and R on your computer and if at all possible a microphone (camera is highly appreciated, but optional). More detail will follow after your registration.

If you don’t know R yet, we strongly recommend to participate in this course. Especially in the study tracks “Ecosystem Analysis and Modelling” or “Ecosystem Sciences” many compulsory modules heavily rely on R. If you are already familiar with R, please check the online materials of the course to make sure that you have the skills provided by the course. If you do not have time to join the course, please study the course materials as a self-learner at another time before the start of your studies.
