The Faculty of Theology at the University of Göttingen is seeking to fill a position as a

Research Assistant (f/m/d)


in the Department of Judaic Studies / Jewish Studies, starting on June 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is for a fixed term of 36 months (3 years), with a part-time work schedule of 50% of the regular weekly working hours (currently 19.9 hours/week). The salary is based on pay group 13 TV-L.

The position is intended to support the qualification of early-career researchers and offers the opportunity for a doctoral degree in the research area of Jewish Modern Thought.

Responsibilities:

  • Independent scholarly work with the aim of obtaining a PhD, preferably in the field of Jewish Stud-ies
  • Participation in the organizational tasks of the department
  • Support for the research activities of the chairholder Independent

  • Your Profile:
  • A successfully completed degree in Jewish Studies, Theology, or a closely related field .
  • Willingness to work in a team
  • Knowledge of the Hebrew language
