RTG 2636: Form-meaning mismatches
The Research Training Group (RTG) "Form-meaning mismatches" aims to provide a large group of PhD students with an excellent training in linguistic research by jointly investigating one of the most pressing questions in linguistics, namely to what extent morphosyntactic structures are mapped onto meaning. Not only is this investigation critical to linguistic theory, especially when it concerns the interface between morphosyntax and semantics/pragmatics, but it may also help us better understand language variation, language change, language processing and language acquisition. The RTG is part of Linguistics in Göttingen (LinG).
The RTG has been funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
We are delighted to announce that the DGfS Summer School 2024 will take place at the University of Göttingen on August 12-23. The school will center around the theme “Form Meaning Mismatches in Spoken and Visual Communication” with international leading experts in the fields of Semantics/Pragmatics, Syntax/Morphology and Visual Communication providing 24 one-week advanced and 4 two-week foundational courses. There will also be several poster sessions in which students will be able to present their research. Participation fee is 50 EUR.
We invite PhD and Master students, as well as advanced Bachelor students with backgound in linguistics to participate in the summer school. All classes will be held in English. For one course in each slot, sign language interpretation (ASL / International Sign) will be provided if needed.
