Center for Integrated Breeding Research (CiBreed)
Our mission is to improve agriculture and forestry and advance scientific discovery by enabling research and teaching across all branches of crop, tree, and animal breeding. We strive to achieve this by building a strong and collaborative community of scientists and experts representing public and private institutions, all career stages, and using synergies across all branches of breeding.
We are happy to announce, that the 7th CiBreed Fall Workshop will take place on October 6 & 7, 2027 in the "Alte Mensa" at Goettingen University. We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the CiBreed’s 10th anniversary with all of you.
With the Faculty of Biology and Psychology now serving as its new supporting faculty, the CiBreed is expanding its interdisciplinary profile. Alongside the leading Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology as a co-founding partner, the new organisational structure strengthens, in particular, the link between basic biological research and applied breeding research. At the same time, it opens up new opportunities for joint research initiatives, teaching and the support of early-career researchers.
