Climate change related abiotic stresses and their impact on Cucurbitacin accumulation in Cucurbita pepo L.CV
Nikola Laurencikova started her academic path at the Czech Technical University in Prague with studies in Biotechnology. After one year she transferred to Nitra to pursue her studies in Agrobiotechnology at the Slovak University of Agriculture with the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science. In 2019 she wrote her bachelor thesis, in collaboration with the Department of Plant Physiology, on assessing the impact of environmental factors on the cultivation of C3 and C4 plants. Afterwards she decided to continue her studies in Agrobiotechnology through an engineering degree. During this study, in 2020, she completed an one-year internship in Germany with the Division of Quality and Sensory of Plant Products at the Georg-August-University Göttingen where she carried out the practical part of her master thesis and finished her master thesis in collaboration with the Department of Plant Physiology at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. Her master thesis was dedicated to the topic: “Application of bioanalytical methods to study the relationship between growing conditions and the content of biologically active substances in Lactuca Sativa L”. Since 2023, she has returned to the Department of Crop Sciences and the Division of Quality and Sensory of Plant Products to study abiotic stress factors related to climate change and their impact on the accumulation of cucurbitacins in Cucurbita pepo L.Degrees
