Emmy-Noether-Gastprofessur


Im Gedenken an die große Mathematikerin Emmy Noether hat die Fakultät für Mathematik und Informatik in Göttingen eine nach der Wissenschaftlerin benannte Gastprofessur ins Leben gerufen.
Jedes Jahr wird eine herausragende Mathematikerin für drei bis vier Wochen nach Göttingen eingeladen, als Emmy-Noether-Professorin ein aktuelles Forschungsgebiet in Vorlesungen und Seminaren vorzustellen und zu diskutieren.

Aktuelle Gastprofessur


Die aktuelle Emmy Noether Gastprofessorin ist Frau Prof. Cornelia Drutu von der Universität Oxford. Sie hat bislang folgende Vorträge gehalten:

Als elfte Emmy-Noether-Professorin war Prof. Claire Voisin vom Centre de mathématiques Laurent Schwartz der Ecole polytechnique vom 25.11. bis 07.12.2012 in Göttingen zu Gast. Sie hat drei Vorträge gehalten:

  • Öffentlicher Vortrag: On the topology of algebraic varieties (Donnerstag, 29.11.2012, 16:45-17:45 Uhr)
    This lecture will be devoted to presenting classical topological results in complex algebraic geometry, starting from the low dimensional situation, (curves and surfaces), and concluding with the Lefschetz theorem on hyperplane sections.
  • 1. Vorlesung: Hodge structures and algebraic cycles I (Dienstag, 04.12.2012, 14:15-15:45 Uhr)
  • 2. Vorlesung: Hodge structures and algebraic cycles II (Mittwoch, 05.12.2012, 12:15-13:45 Uhr)
    In these lectures, I plan to give an introduction to Hodge structures and to describe the interplay between the complexity of Hodge structures and the size of Chow groups of an algebraic variety defined over the complex numbers.

Als zehnte Emmy-Noether-Professorin war Prof. Agata Smoktunowicz von der School of Mathematics in Edinburgh vom 6. bis 17. Juni 2011 in Göttingen zu Gast. Sie hat zwei Vorträge gehalten:
  • Öffentlicher Vortrag: "Noetherian algebras, Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and other ring theory topics in noncommutative algebraic geometry" (Donnerstag, 09.06.2011, 17:15-18:15 Uhr) dazu: Prof. Laurent Bartholdi "Introduction to the mathematics of Agata Smoktunowicz" (16:45-17:15 Uhr)

Als sechste Emmy-Noether-Professorin war im Juni 2006 Prof. Raman Parimala von der Emory University in Atlanta, USA in Göttingen zu Gast. Sie hat drei Vorträge gehalten:

  • Galois cohomology of classical groups
  • Arithmetic of linear algebraic groups over 2-dimensional fields
  • Isotropy of quadratic forms over function fields of p-adic curves

Sommersemester 2005


Als fünfte Emmy-Noether Professorin 2005 war Prof. Marie-France Vigneras aus Paris vom 26. Juni bis zum 9. Juli 2005 Göttingen zu Gast. Sie sprach über:

  • On the local Langlands correpsondence for GL(2)
  • Complex local Langlands
  • p-adic and modulo p local Langlands correspondence in the non residual characteristic
  • The first steps of a p-adic and modulo p correspondence in the residual characteristic

Sommersemester 2004


Vom 15. Juni bis zum 15. Juli 2004 war Pilar Bayer aus Barcelona als vierte Emmy-Noether-Professorin in Göttingen:

  • Introduction to Shimura curves
  • Fundamental domains and CM-points
  • Uniformization of Shimura curves
  • Abelian varieties with QM

Sommersemester 2003


Im Jahr 2003 war Sylvie Paycha vom Laboratoire de Mathématiques Appliquées der Université Blaise Pasquale in Clermont-Ferrand, Frankreich vom 14. April bis zum 9. Mai 2003 zu Gast in Göttingen. Als Emmy-Noether-Professorin hat sie eine Vorlesungsreihe gehalten:

  • From heat-operators to anomalies; a walk through various regularization techniques in mathematics and physics

Wintersemester 2002/2003


Als zweite Emmy-Noether-Professorin besuchte Eva Bayer-Fluckiger von der EPF Lausanne vom 3. bis zum 14. Februar 2003 in Göttingen. Als Emmy-Noether-Professorin sprach sie über:

  • Euklidische Zahlkörper und Euklidische Minima und über Idealgitter

Wintersemester 2001/2002


Im Wintersemester 2001/2002 wurde die Gastprofessur zum ersten Mal vergeben: Vom 15. Oktober bis zum 15. November 2001 gastierte Mina Teicher, Professorin an der Bar-Ilan-Universität in Israel und Direktorin des dortigen Emmy-Noether-Instituts, in Göttingen. In einer Reihe von Vorträgen sprach sie über Zopfgruppen und deren Anwendungen in der Algebraischen Geomtrie und der aktuellen Forschung:

  • Braid Group Techniques in Algebraic Geometry


Anläßlich der ersten Emmy-Noether-Professur fand die Würzburger Ausstellung Leben und Werk der Emmy Noether im Mathematischen Institut mit einführenden Festvortrag Die Lust an der Mathematik - Emmy Noether als Lehrende und Forschende von Frau Mechthild Koreuber statt.
