The following access options are available to our students and research and teaching staff of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences.

The prerequisite for using the remote desktop apps is activated MFA (2nd factor) for the user account and an active connection to the university network (VPN or cable network/Eduroam).

For VPN eduVPN must be used.

Note:
Data is not backed up on the systems - data must be saved on personal network drives.
Availability of the remote desktop services is not guaranteed.

Establishing a connection with remote desktop apps


Open the following link in your browser (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer):
https://remote.uni-goettingen.de

Log into the d.academiccloud.de page that opens and confirm the MFA (2nd factor).

The login window for the remote desktop server then opens.


Log in with the login data in the login window:

NOTES:

Employees
  • Employees must enter the domain: GWDG without backslash
  • User name: GWDG user ID (e.g. mmuster2)
Students
  • Students must enter the domain: UG-STUDENT without backslash
  • User name: Student user ID (e.g. m.muster)

After a successful login, the desktop of the server is displayed and the programs can be used.

Errors:

If one of the following error messages appears during the first login attempt, the connection can be retried in a few seconds.
In most cases, login is then possible immediately.
