How to get here:

From the airport to Göttingen
From the airport you best take the shuttle train or bus to the next long-distance railway station. With your ticket you have to reach the main station in Goettingen. The fastest connection is the intercity express (ICE) of the German Railways (Deutsche Bahn-DB). Ask for connections and charges on the information desk or counters.

From the train station to our department in the Wilhelm-Weber-Str. 2a
The way to the Department of Palynology and Climate Dynamics takes 17 to 25 minutes. Leaving the main entrance of the railway station you turn left and take the footway along the street named "Berliner Straße". Keep going ahead on the street named "Nikolausberger Weg". On the left hand side you will see the modern new building of the state and academical library. To the right you see the wall surrounding the old botanical garden of Goettingen. At the end of the wall next to a metal fence you will find the street "Wilhelm-Weber-Straße". The first gate of the right hand side is one of the entrances to the botanical garden. The Department is located in the low building on the left hand side behind the parking for employees of the botanical garden (Wilhelm Weber Str. 2a).
Of course there is also a taxi stand at the train station.

By car
You reach Goettingen via the expressway "Autobahn A7". Take the departure 72 (Göttingen Nord) and follow the feeder road A 388 in the direction to Goettingen. The highway ends up on the street named "An der Lutter". Follow the signs to "Universitätskliniken/Polizei" (academical hospitals and police). Take the departure on the right when you are in the street named "Robert-Koch-Straße". Take the way to the centre of the (Innenstadt). Behind a crossroad „Kreuzbergring“ starts the street "Humboldt-Allee". Take this street and turn right on the next crossroad entering the street Nikolausberger Weg. On the next crossing turn left into the street "Wilhelm-Weber-Straße". The first gate of the right hand side is one of the entrances to the botanical garden. The Department is located in the low building left hand side behind the parking for employees of the botanical garden (Wilhelm Weber Str. 2a). Parking (with a parking fee) you find nearby in streets and on the campus.
