Ecosystem Modelling

The department of Ecosystem modelling was founded in 2009 and contributes to research and teaching at three faculties: Agricultural Sciences, Biology, and Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology.

We develop and analyse models of spatial dynamics of populations and communities, mainly in savanna, forest, and agricultural ecosystems. Our general approach is to investigate (spatial) pattern-process links.

For details on current projects see Research and for published results on previous and current projects see Publications.

The courses taught by us have an emphasis on ecological theories and concepts and on methods in ecological modelling and spatial statistics.
