Experimental phyto chambers
One part of the large greenhouse in the Experimental Botanical Garden of the University consists of an extended experimental phytochamber unit. Fourteen chambers in total are available, in which climatic growth conditions (temperature, air humidity, vapour pressure deficit, light) can be widely adjusted to enable experimental setups for studying plant responses to different environmental conditions. Four of these chambers have a particularly advanced climate regulation system allowing for simulating even demanding growth conditions of alpine habitats (low temperatures, high solar radiation intensity). The phytochambers are used for both research purpose and students training courses.
