Study Physics in Göttingen

Our faculty currently educates around 1200 students with over 30 professors, a very good supervision ratio. Nevertheless, we are of course happy about new students - they bring new life into the faculty and science. Because in addition to excellent research, we also focus on excellent teaching. It is always a great pleasure for all of us young people for the fascination of physics.
For over 250 years, Göttingen physics has always played an outstanding role and has provided essential impulses for the development of this science. For example, the foundations of quantum mechanics were laid here at the Georgia Augusta.
In recent years, three current focal points have emerged in Göttingen physics, in which research is being intensified: Astro- and Particle Physics, Biophysics and Physics of Complex Systems, and Solid State and Materials Physics. We are looking for enthusiastic students for this.
