Dr. Marco Ferrante
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Göttingen, where I study how natural features like field margins, hedgerows, and grasslands help support insects and other small animals in farmland. My research looks at how these semi-natural habitats contribute to healthy ecosystems and important services like pest control. By answering key ecological questions, I aim to help design farming landscapes that are productive while also protecting nature. I lead the research project HEAVEN and am also part of the KOOPERATIV project team.

Marleen Krämer
I am a PhD student at the University of Göttingen, where I am investigating how human use and nature can be combined to promote sustainable agricultural systems with ecological synergies.
My research focuses on how ground beetles benefit from semi-natural structures such as field margins, hedgerows and grassland - and how these habitats contribute to the stability of agroecosystems and biological pest control.
Before my PhD, I studied biology at the University of Hohenheim, specialising in ecology and biodiversity. In my master's thesis, I analysed the true bug fauna of the botanical gardens in Hohenheim and their potential to serve as a refuge for insects in the agricultural landscape.
