International
GSGG does not only unite various disciplines under one roof but is also internationally positioned: Approximately 30 percent of our doctoral candidates are not from Germany but from nearly 40 countries from all over the world. We offer international doctoral candidates support and consulting regarding various concerns.
Please find basic information on the German academic system, matters of visa and residence as well as the city of Göttingen in the list of links to the right.
We gladly are at your disposal for information and assistance; please do not hesitate to make an appointment for a consultation. If you like to have German-speaking support concerning an appointment at the authority, please contact us – However, it is important to coordinate these appointments with us as early as possible.
Once a year, we organise an internal Welcome Day for all new international doctoral candidates. On this occasion, we inform you about offers of GSGG; furthermore, there will be the opportunity for informal exchange with coffee and cake.
Furthermore, we have established an International Round Table; here, we can exchange experiences and talk about special needs of our international doctoral candidates.
